There is a great bathroom products store on the Gold Coast (Varsity Lakes near Broadbeach and Tweed Heads just over the NSW border) – it’s WHO Bathroom Warehouse.
Many customers of Backyard Pods want to do their own project management, or even a bit of DIY themselves, to save big dollars on their backyard studio, granny flat, home office, or guest cabin project.
WHO can help you save on tapware, mix-and-match vanities, and bathroom accessories that you need to complete your project once your Backyard Pod kit has been installed to the lockup stage (meaning with doors and windows but no connections or interior fit-out). It’s worth checking the prices of suppliers like Reece, Highgrove, Bunnings, IKEA, and others compared to WHO.
If you need help to install WHO items once you’ve got your Backyard Pod kit to lock-up, you can look on HiPages or Airtasker. You can get local tradespeople to lay your carpet, install your kitchen, and all the jobs needed once you’ve bought your bits and pieces from WHO online or instore – noting that most porcelain products (basins, baths, etc) cannot be shipped far but tapware and accessories can be delivered to any location in Australia.
Backyard Pods has no connection with WHO (this is important to note), so mentioning our name over the counter won’t get you a discount. However, we can think of no better place to send our customers when they need to save money on tapware, bathroom accessories, vanities, etc.
Cheaper bathrooms for Backyard Pods

This granny flat with Bunnings fit-out is cheaper than IKEA as featured in the original 4m x 8m granny flat design by Backyard Pods.
We really like IKEA bathroom accessories, and all of our own Backyard Pod designs have featured IKEA bathrooms. For purists, we will always suggest looking at an IKEA vanity and other items because the quality and precision you can expect is probably the best in the world.
This being said, the people at WHO have come up with a range of vanities, taps, etc that are very low price compared to IKEA or any other supplier.
If you’re on a super-tight budget, the WHO range is definitely worth looking at.
Please note that Backyard Pods customers are free to shop wherever they choose for interior fit-out items and installation services. We are not paid by WHO to send our customers to their stores. We only suggest that for someone buying a Backyard Pod, WHO is where they could go to make the additional purchases needed to complete their project. Some customers may have a builder or installer that offers to provide the fit-out items as part of their overall service. The important thing is that customers have options and can make an informed choice. We try to help everyone by providing information but only you know your needs and circumstances, so please don’t take anyone’s advice (except for getting ‘professional advice’) unless you’ve decided it would be the most appropriate for your situation.
